Features a double pulley system on the control unit to gain maximum pedal travel. The cable passes through a pulley mounted to the vehicle bulkhead on the driver side and are attached to the vehicle controls with a pedal clamp. Uniquely, the control system pedal can be removed simply and easily by lifting them from the support brackets on the control unit when not giving tuition, there are no locking pins or nuts to loosen!
FAST dual controls use Bowden cables.
Which have a nylon lining to prevent metal-to-metal contact (the cause of cable failure). Our cables are tested to a breaking strain of 850Kg (5KN), it would take an elephant to generate that pressure! As with other makes of dual controls, the system needs to be correctly installed and maintained to ensure trouble-free operation.
Note that some Fords and vehicles with U-section pedal arms may require an adapter (T-clamp) available at extra cost.
